story of a nightingale

~

story of a nightingale ~ story of a nightingale ~

What is the inspiration behind Story of a Nightingale…?

Life has always been a great mystery to me. Although separation has been rife through our societies, one thing has become a comfort to me. That we are all here. Existing on this one planet. Yes we may experience many different realities but it has become clear to me. The very thing that has torn us apart can bring us back together, our hearts.

Through a series of my own spiritual awakenings and journeys back to self, I have begun to see that as humans we all operate from patterns. Some are conscious, others unconscious, but we have the power to change them. It is our bravery to be honest, to dive into the deepest, darkest crevices of our own inner being. Within this journey we will encounter all that we have tried to avoid and attach ourselves to desperately in order to find some kind of safety, some kind of security.

It is this question we avoid the most, yet rarely do we even acknowledge its existence. What lies beyond this fear?

I have not been immune to being swept up in the same systems that we all have been vulnerable to, as it is interwoven into the fibres of our cultures and society. The ones that tell us we need to achieve, be seen, make an announcement of ourselves. Have you heard of the term? Don’t dim to fit in. Let yourself shine. These phrases can very easily become obscured by the systems we have been brought up in. Very often these phrases can mean to be the star, the one who stands out, but this is a one way road to exhausting ourselves.

The answer that I have so far received and reaped the rewards of time and time again is allowing our hearts to be seen and nurtured. We all serve a purpose, and I speak to those who stand as the witness, who may easily feel overlooked and lost. However these are usually the people who have gained the richest insights and wisdom. To commune with someone who truly speaks from the heart and has allowed themselves to just be is a gift.

As I have acknowledged before, I am not immune to the systems that we have been brought up in. I say this as someone who always pushed against the system, even those in my own family, friends and social groups. It was only when I realised the pain and isolation it caused me, did I have to go into how the conditioning still had its effect on me, even those in the spiritual community. What happens if we let go of it all, what we believe to be prosperity, achievement, abundance, wealth, love, community, friendship, and just sit in that space of surrender. Surrendering all you have known and all you have tried to gain knowledge on.

My journey into the light has been to see life’s beauty around me even when I’m swimming in darkness, lost and confused. To appreciate all that you have in the now and to give love and compassion to yourself for being a human that is susceptible to the unknown. To become one with its rhythm and heartbeat.

We are here to create, to collaborate and move beyond what is already known.
